Our magnetic clasp is your best ally for finishing your DIY bracelets.

In this article, I will present 3 very practical aspects of using our Hiilos clasps.

(To better understand, I also recommend watching this video.)

1. No need to glue the strands into the clasps

Why is gluing difficult? The main reason is that the slot in traditional magnetic clasps—where you need to insert and glue your cords or weaving—is twice as wide as it should be!

As a result, you have to add twill to fill the gap, or ‘fill’ it with glue.

The problem with the first solution is that it’s time-consuming and tedious. The downside of the second method is that it doesn’t last over time, and you risk getting glue everywhere—on the cords, the clasp, and your fingers…

Contrary to what you might think, using a lot of glue does not make the bond stronger. On the contrary, it often weakens it, as many adhesives are not designed to fill large gaps between the materials being bonded.

So, to avoid these issues related to gluing, we designed and created our own Hiilos Interchangeable Clasp. The concept is simple: you slide the cords inside the clasp—no glue required

2. Slide your creations into and out of the clasps whenever you like!

In addition to avoiding glue, our system lets you mix and match your strands as you like. Nothing could be simpler! You can combine your strands however you want, without worrying about how to pair them, since they’re not glued and you can change your design anytime.

Likewise, if you particularly like one strand, there’s no need to make it twice or three times to include it in different bracelets. You’ll save time and can focus on creating new, original designs! Also, there’s no need to buy multiple identical clasps—simply reuse yours however you like, with strands suited to each occasion.

One last thing: if a strand in your cuff breaks, don’t worry—it’s not ruined. Just remake the broken strand and replace it in your favorite cuff

3. Easily insert your creations into our tubes, specially designed to fit our clasps

To slide your creations into our clasps, you first need to attach our Hiilos tubes to each end of your strands (leather, cord, chains, etc.) and weavings.

These end caps easily slide onto your beaded weavings. For thicker creations, like leather strands, you may need to gently widen the end caps with a knife blade to insert your strand, then pinch them closed with small pliers. Tip: for cords, tie a knot at each end of your strand. The knots will prevent the cord from slipping out of the end caps. You can choose from three different end cap lengths: 11 mm, 20 mm, and 40 mm. Once the end caps are attached to your strands, all that’s left is to slide them into your desired clasp.
